Claire Forsyth, LMHC
Through an interpersonally collaborative approach, Claire aims to cultivate an empathetic and holistic therapeutic space which serves as the container to explore curiosity and suffering from safely within. Claire prioritizes personalizing treatment to meet the distinct needs and intentions of those she serves. Claire believes that each person’s unique intersectional identity, values, narratives, and desire to create meaning out of life coalesce to form a constellation that shapes both individual and relational experiences. Claire not only hopes to guide clients in developing a deeper sense of understanding toward who they are at their core, but to facilitate discovery around how emotional agony may be alleviated by challenging narratives that are no longer in service to the greater good.
In her practice, Claire draws from evidence-based approaches and integrated humanistic interventions as well as from philosophical frameworks that are rooted in existentialism. Claire provides care to individuals and couples from all backgrounds and walks of life. For clients who are seeking to enhance the connection they have with nature, in addition to healing the relationship that they have with others and within themselves, Claire is willing to share space in an outdoor session. Claire received her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in 2021 after working in the fields of substance abuse and recovery, crisis intervention, and transitional living for those who are unhoused.
After serving various different populations, Claire found herself head over heels for the work of couples counseling. Since recognizing that so many couples are craving uncharted levels of emotional depth and sexual intimacy, Claire began guiding couples to that next level in their relationships. Claire has received her Level One certification in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy and has gone on to self-study in the modality of Narrative Relational Sex Therapy in order to expand the techniques of exploration that individuals and couples alike can use in their journeys toward sexual wellness. Claire supports couples of all relationship structures while meeting all those she cares for with an open compassionate heart. Claire is currently training to become certified in Attachment Focused EMDR to assist in clearing the blockages from complex trauma so that clients can embrace freedom in their lives.
