Claire Bourgeois, MHC-LP

Claire Bourgeois (she/her) is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor dedicated to supporting others as they forge a deeper connection with themselves, and the world around them. To Claire, the therapeutic process supports the development of self trust and compassion - offering a path through which awareness can grow, and pain can be transformed. Her intention is to create a deeply authentic and nurturing space where adolescents, adults and couples can work towards healing past wounds while resolving current challenges. Claire believes in the innate wisdom that all clients hold. She works with others to turn a listening ear to their intuition, while gently challenging the patterns that may be preventing them from connecting to their resilience.

Claire holds a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New York University (NYU), and integrates her academic expertise and theoretical training with over a decade of experience in alternative healing practices. Her theoretical foundation is grounded in elements from Person Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS). In her work with couples, Claire draws on Gottman Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She is currently working towards a certification in Gottman Couples Therapy.

Her diverse background includes training in Reiki (Reiki I) and Yoga (RYT200), meditation, Horticultural Therapy, nutrition, nature education, herbalism, and holistic wellness. Claire incorporates somatic practices in her sessions - including meditation, guided visualization, breathwork and movement - supporting individuals as they build practical tools to regulate their nervous system and bridge the gap between mind, body and spirit.

Claire is committed to providing an inclusive therapeutic space that is trauma-informed, sex positive, gender and sexuality affirming, trans-inclusive and culturally sensitive. This requires ongoing personal work that Claire is dedicated to ensuring informs all aspects of her work with others.
