Becca Wintle
I am a UK licensed music therapist with 15 years’ clinical experience, now located in Delaware county NY and offering services in this county and the Kingston NY area.
I work with children and adults, using music as an alternative way to communicate and connect, exploring inner worlds and giving shape to things that are hard to put into words.
I offer individual sessions for adults and individual or small group sessions for children. I also work with individuals with disabilities and those on the Autism spectrum.
A session may incorporate improvisation on tuned and untuned percussion, sound-play, song-writing, breath-work, vocal techniques to encourage body-awareness and connection along with many other techniques.
You don’t need any musical skill or experience, and the focus is not on creating good or nice sounding music. It is about giving voice to parts of you that need to be heard, listening to and exploring those parts of us in a deeper, embodied way through music.
I draw on Internal Family Systems theory in this work, along with somatic body-focused approaches that aim to increase awareness and integration and lead to greater well-being.
